Meet Terry Lynn Futrell
Terry Lynn Futrell is a storyteller at heart, a wanderer by spirit, and a woman who never shied away from chasing the tides, both in life and on the water. Born and raised in North Carolina, Terry’s roots run deep in Southern soil, where she grew up surrounded by faith, family, and the rhythms of small-town life.
After a successful career in the medical field, Terry traded scrubs and sterile rooms for bibs and boots, setting her sights on a shrimping and crabbing adventure in the South Carolina Lowcountry. It wasn’t long before the quiet creeks, unpredictable tides, and unforgettable characters carved a new story into her heart and life.
The Lady of McCalleys Creek is Terry’s debut book, a memoir inspired by real events, told with raw honesty, humor, and spiritual reflection. It’s a tribute to resilience, to the beauty of God’s creation, and to the idea that it’s never too late to begin again.
When she’s not writing or capturing sunrises with her camera, Terry can be found spending time with her family, and her faithful pup Lilly, and dreaming up the next adventure…wherever the tide may lead.
